Kidical Mass Derby Superhero Special (October 2023)

1 October 2023 11:00 12:30

Family cycle rides to celebrate cycling and show we need safe space to cycle. Supported by Spoke Out. Join the ride on Sunday 1st October, meeting outside the council house at 10.45am.

The Kidical Mass movement is growing in the UK with more and more families joining rides to make it clear that we want to cycle and we need safe spaces to do it.

Our rides are fun, welcoming and gentle – suitable for all ages and abilities. We start at Derby City Council House and ride a short route around the city as one group, with volunteers to guide the ride.

There will be music to keep everyone moving and we encourage everyone to stay and socialise at the end. The rides normally end on Cathedral Green, perfect for a post-ride picnic.

We want to bring people who cycle together, give children an opportunity to ride on the road, and start a conversation about safe, accessible and inclusive spaces for cycling. Whether you cycle for the environment, convenience or fun we want to celebrate cycling and get the message out that cycling should be for everyone. So come and be part of something big.

This is a family friendly cycle and everyone is welcome, regardless of whether or not you have or look after children. This is a social ride and there will be cars so we kindly ask that you are self-sufficient and responsible for yourselves and any children you bring along.
