Kidical Mass Derby (July 2023)

The last Derby Kidical Mass was awesome with over 70 participants filling the streets. Now we are back in a different location so more people can experience our fun cycle rides suitable for anyone. Join the ride to make it clear that we want to cycle and we need safe spaces to do it.

Our rides are fun, welcoming and gentle – suitable for all ages and abilities. We will start from Boulton Lane Park (just off the shared use path) and ride a short loop around Alvaston and Boulton as one group, with volunteers to guide the ride.

There will be music to keep everyone moving and we encourage everyone to stay and socialise at the end. The ride will end back at Boulton Lane Park, perfect for a picnic and play in the play area. We will have access to the community centre for use of the toilets before and after the ride.

We want to bring people who cycle together, give children an opportunity to ride on the road, and start a conversation about safe, accessible and inclusive spaces for cycling. Whether you cycle for the environment, convenience or fun we want to celebrate cycling and get the message out that cycling should be for everyone. So come and be part of something big.

This is a family friendly cycle and everyone is welcome, regardless of whether or not you have or look after children. This is a social ride and there will be cars so we kindly ask that you are self-sufficient and responsible for yourselves and any children you bring along.
